We like to put a lot of our focus on the modern Adventuress - after all, getting up and hitting the road or the trail today is what being an adventuress is all about. However, we firmly believe in giving praise where praise is due, and in the sense of Amelia Earhart, we've got an Adventuress for the ages.
For those who are not in the know, Amelia Earhart was an American aviation genius, and also an author. Amelia was the first women in history to receive the US Distinguished Flying Cross when she was the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Later on in life she went on to join Purdue University's aviation department to help council women on aviation careers and spread her own love of the subject. After her long and distinguished career, she disappeared in 1937 over the Pacific Ocean while trying to get to Howland Island.
Amelia Earhart was a true adventuress of her time. Not only did she surpass the boundaries of her station as a woman, she also was an activist for the Equal Rights Amendment and a part of the National Woman's Party. Not to mention, her exploratory nature when it came to crossing the Atlantic in daring to attempt to cross the Pacific Ocean on her own should serve as excellent inspiration to modern-day adventuresses all over the globe. No matter who you are or what your particular tastes are, make sure that you take time out of your schedule to adventure, just like Amelia Earhart. You never know where your adventures can take you.
Remember that when you go on your own modern-day adventures, be sure to remember to bring along some Sunscreen Swipes and facial moisturizer to take care of your skin while out and about. Adventure well, but don't forget to protect your body as you are doing it!
